Bring the idea.
We will bring
the bench.
A Papillon commission is a piece made once, for one person. The process is slow, private and detailed — closer to commissioning a portrait than ordering a ring.
The starting point is a conversation. There is no template, no obligation, and no charge to begin.
Five stages,
one signature
at each.
Every commission moves through the same five stages. You approve each one in writing before the next begins.
A private appointment to understand the piece — the wearer, the occasion, the reference points that matter.
Hand sketches and a written brief. We narrow to a single direction before any metal is cut.
Detailed CAD renderings, a wax model where useful, and a fixed quotation. Nothing progresses without your signature.
Your piece is made by hand in our Cape Town atelier — updated at each meaningful stage.
Presented in the boutique, or hand-delivered — with the full record of stones, hallmark and provenance.
The kinds of
pieces we are
asked to make.
Solitaires, halos, hidden details and heirloom re-settings.
Matched pairs, contour bands and inscribed interiors.
Eternity bands, pendants and earrings for milestone moments.
A treasured piece reimagined into something worn every day.
Onyx signets, brushed platinum and hand-engraved crests.
Time, cost,
certainty.
