Statutory Rights
Goods supplied by Papillon carry the rights and implied warranty provided by applicable South African consumer law. These rights may include remedies for goods that are unsafe, defective, not reasonably suitable for their ordinary purpose, or not as described. They are not replaced or reduced by this policy.
Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains the Consumer Protection Act remedy that may apply during the first six months after delivery.
Additional Written Warranties
An additional product warranty applies only where its duration, provider, scope and conditions are expressly supplied with the item or recorded on the quotation or invoice. We do not promise a universal 12-month or lifetime warranty.
A manufacturer's watch warranty applies only when it is expressly supplied with that watch. A used or pre-owned item does not automatically carry the original manufacturer's warranty; the individual listing or quotation will state what documentation or additional cover is included.
What We Assess
We distinguish a manufacturing fault from ordinary wear, accidental damage, misuse, loss, theft and routine maintenance needs. Cause is assessed fairly from the item, its history and the available evidence. A broken chain, loose setting or missing part is not automatically accepted or rejected without considering the circumstances.
Work by another repairer affects a claim only to the extent that the work is relevant to the damage or to an applicable written warranty term, and only as the law permits. It does not automatically remove unrelated statutory rights.
Repair Workmanship
Rights relating to the quality of a repair service are distinct from a product warranty. If an additional repair workmanship warranty is offered, its scope and period will be stated on the repair documentation. Nothing in that documentation removes statutory service rights.
Making a Claim
- Contact us with your invoice, quotation or repair reference and a description of the issue.
- Keep the item secure and avoid further use if continued use may worsen damage.
- Bring or return the item using arrangements agreed with our team.
- We will assess the item and communicate the finding and available remedy in writing.
Photographs and service history can help but do not replace a fair assessment. Contact info@papillonjewellers.co.za or 070 770 3635 to begin.
